Information technologies play a service role in the company, leading to increase the effectiveness 
of the implementation of activities and achieving the goals of the business strategy,
and an innovative role - allowing for the development of the organization. Their development
and implementation of IT systems have a huge impact on the modern business environment. 
Business applications have been implemented in organizations almost since the first commercial
computers were created. Factors driving changes in the way information technology is used are: 
- process automation, 
- digital data, 
- connectivity and digital access of consumers. 
The basis of the information revolution has become the Internet, contributing to the emergence of 
new business models related to electronic commerce. Another revolution referred to Industry 4.0. 
is stimulated by the Internet of Things (IoT) and influences the emergence of new concepts 
in the area of ​​business management. Ideas related to running a business in new conditions 
have an impact on changes in the management method in enterprises, which is expressed, among 
others, in the change of the model of using IT applications and services through the use of
software made available in the service model (Software as a Service), or in the idea of ​​
"data driven management". Cloud computing services affect the scalability, reliability and 
availability of IT systems and data, affecting the flexibility of the adopted solutions and changing 
the cost structure of their use. The department deals with the broadly understood application of information 
technology in business organizations and public administration units. The main areas of scientific 
interest of employees are:

  -  management applications and IT systems in the automation of business processes of 
the organization, including CRM, ERP, WMS systems, group work communication systems,
  -  online collaboration and service platforms,
  -  intelligent organization management,
  -  software engineering problems, with particular emphasis on design methods and techniques,
