History
In 1991, on the initiative of Professor Bogdan Piasecki, PhD, DSc, the first Department of Entrepreneurship and Industrial Policy in Poland was established at the Faculty of Economics and Sociology of the University of Łódź. The Department began conducting academic research on entrepreneurship and the operation of enterprises in the SME sector.
In 1999, the Department was transformed into the Chair of Entrepreneurship and Industrial Policy. The position of Head of the Department and later the Chair was held by Professor Bogdan Piasecki.
In 2004, the role was taken over by Professor Edward Stawasz, PhD, DSc, and in 2020 by Professor Renata Lisowska, PhD, DSc, who has held the position to this day.
