Finance, business and AI alongside your studies: enrolment is now open for the CIMA’s CGMA Programme

The rapid development of artificial intelligence is transforming the work of finance teams and the skills employers look for. Future finance professionals are expected not only to have technical knowledge, but also to understand business, use digital tools confidently, think critically and exercise sound judgement. The CGMA Programme at WZ UL responds to these needs and the enrolment for the 2026/2027 academic year is now open. Delivered jointly by the Faculty of Management, University of Lodz and CIMA, the programme allows students to begin their journey towards the CGMA Professional Qualification while completing their degree.

The CGMA Professional Qualification offered by CIMA combines finance expertise with business understanding, digital skills, strategic thinking and the ability to make well-founded recommendations. Its syllabus is developed in collaboration with employers to reflect the current and future needs of organisations. It places particular emphasis on applying knowledge in practice, including through case study examinations based on realistic business scenarios.

The qualification has a strong long-standing reputation and can help candidates stand out in the job market. A salary report prepared by Randstad for CIMA indicates that certified finance professionals in Poland earn between 16% and 25% more than those without a professional qualification. This suggests that investing in the CGMA Professional Qualification can support higher earning potential and faster career progression.

Jakub Bejnarowicz, CIMA Regional Director for Europe, said: the CGMA designation is valued by leading employers worldwide. Through the CGMA University Programme, students can develop their skills and fast-track their journey towards becoming a CGMA while still at university. The programme not only enhances their employability but also prepares them to become professionals who combine financial and business expertise with ethics, critical thinking and sound judgement. In a world shaped by technology and AI, these are the capabilities needed to support responsible decision-making and build trust.

The CGMA University Programme at the Faculty of Management, University of Lodz is available to students of Bachelor and Master programmes accredited by CIMA. Candidates who complete all required subjects as part of the Programme will be exempt from certain CIMA exams, and, after successfully passing the relevant final CGMA exam, will be able to obtain the Certificate in Business Accounting (Cert BA) or the Diploma in Management Accounting (CIMA Dip MA). These are official steps towards completing the CGMA Professional Qualification and obtaining the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) designation.
