What distinguished the University of Lodz community's participation in this year's Poland Business Run most was not only their excellent athletic performance, but above all their attitude – full of commitment, openness and shared responsibility. The run was an opportunity for integration, for working together – not out of obligation, but out of the heart.
The 14th edition of the Poland Business Run, the largest charity run in Poland, finished on Sunday, 9 September of the current year. This year's event attracted 46,635 runners from 1,832 companies, an increase of over 5,000 participants compared to the previous year.
In addition to the in-person races in Krakow and Warsaw (over 19,000 runners), the event also featured runners competing virtually. Representatives of the University of Lodz were among them. Our university was represented by nine five-person relay teams (24 women and 21 men). Each participant ran a 4-kilometer distance on a route of their choice, and results were submitted via a dedicated app.
The UniLodz team achieved outstanding results! The team, consisting of the fastest runners from our university – the UniLodz Greyhounds – took 22nd place out of 4,248 teams from across Poland. The team composition and times:
Piotr Kędzia (Faculty of Educational Sciences) – 15:35
Łukasz Arendt (Faculty of Economics and Sociology) – 16:12
Piotr Fulmański (Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science) – 16:14
Radosław Janiak (Faculty of Philosophy and History) – 17:46
Marcin Michalak (Faculty of Management) – 17:50
Congratulations to the whole team!
The other UniLodz teams also performed very well, taking very good places in the general classification:

The UniLodz Project Support Centre – 2437th place
(Ws)Chodzące gwiazdy UniLodz (CWP UŁ) – 2836th place
Taking part in the run was not only a sporting challenge, but above all a form of real help – the funds raised will go to over 100 people from all over Poland who struggle with mobility disabilities, are amputees or have had mastectomies.
The joint effort of runners representing various units at the University of Lodz demonstrates how much we can achieve when we work together – with energy, empathy and a conviction that helping others is worthwhile. We would like to thank all involved for representing the University of Lodz in a spirit of cooperation, commitment and service to others.
