The consortium organising the conference currently includes six universities from five countries: University of Lodz, Kaunas Technological University (Lithuania), Linnaeus University (Sweden), Kiel University of Applied Sciences (Germany), Jönköping University (Sweden), and Bata University (The Czech Republic). Forty-eight scientists attended the conference and nearly half of them represented foreign universities from countries such as the Czech Republic, Finland, Canada, Lithuania, Germany, Ukraine and Sweden.

The essence of the conference is in line with the mission of the University of Lodz: cooperation based on dialogue, openness to the world and acting in the spirit of freedom and openness of academic discussion. The main goal of the conference was to bring scientists from different countries together, thus creating an opportunity for discussion and exchange of views on the latest trends and issues in accounting.

The presented topics covered a broad range of accounting issues, including auditing, education, financial analysis, financial reporting, accounting information systems, management accounting/controlling, public sector accounting, social and environmental aspects of accounting, tax issues and accounting theory. The conference was divided into seven sessions, during which a total of 21 papers were presented. Each session included two to four presentations, organised according to the following principles: 20 minutes for the author's presentation, 10 minutes for the designated presenter and 10 minutes for discussion/questions from the event participants. A special panel session was devoted to the use of AI in accounting education and practice in an international context.

The conference was combined with the International Doctoral Colloquium, which featured presentations of the concepts for three doctoral dissertations. During the colloquium, doctoral students from Poland and the Czech Republic received guidance and advice on continuing their research from an international group of professors. The colloquium also included workshops for doctoral students, led by Professor Timur Uman from Jönköping University in Sweden.

The conference participants also visited the Lodz headquarters of the family-owned company TME – a global logistics services provider and a member of the Business Council of the Faculty of Management at the University of Lodz. During the visit, they learned about the company's history and dynamic development and had an opportunity to observe the processes implemented in one of the most modern logistics centres in Europe.

The 5th TARC 2025 conference was primarily a scientific event, but it also aimed to promote the Faculty of Management, University of Lodz, internationally. Numerous discussions with representatives of foreign universities took place during and after the conference. These meetings were to develop cooperation with our international partners.

The next, 6th TARC conference in 2027 will be organised by the Tomas Bata University in the Czech Republic.
