Like every year, the initiative is also joined by the UniLodz Erasmus Student Network, an organisation supporting international students coming as part of exchange programmes (Erasmus+) and promoting international mobility. Joint activities make UniLodz Mentor an even more open and inclusive initiative.
Who is a UniLodz Mentor?
A UniLodz Mentor is a person who:
- supports newly arrived international students,
- helps them find their way around the university structures,
- answers questions related to academic life and everyday life in Łódź,
- builds an atmosphere of openness and integration on campus.
Mentors operate in two spaces:
- online – through a dedicated WhatsApp group,
- on-site – at the Welcome Point, a special zone at the University of Lodz Library operating in September and October, where new students can receive support and take part in integration events.
Why is it a good idea to join the community of UniLodz Mentors?
You help others
Your experience can significantly ease the start for new students, who often feel lost during their first weeks at university.
You meet people from all over the world
The University of Lodz welcomes students from many different countries. As a mentor, you can build intercultural relationships and broaden your horizons.
You develop your language skills
Contact with people from various parts of the world is a great opportunity to practise not only English, but also other languages.
You receive distinctions
The most active mentors receive distinctions and prizes, including University of Lodz bomber jackets.
